I haven't been paying that much attention to this game so I'm confused about the "temporal" aspect since the designs here look very similar to their postskip designs in 3 Houses... Do we know exactly when this game takes place?

The designs we've seen seem to be a middle ground between pre and post timeskip, so the game seems to take place basically during when the timeskip would've been in the original
 
I still need to figure out the best way to experience the main game’s story since I obviously wouldn’t be able to finish it before this even if I didn’t stall out. Anybody know a good playthrough or cut up vid since apparently write ups are biased or incomplete supposedly?

All I know for sure is Edelgard seems coolest of the main lords while Claude looks like a chump. And there’s that one shy chick from a bad background everyone seems to like
 
Well this seems to settle the 'will all the students be playable' debate. Good stuff, would be a shame if some of them missed the cut.

Interesting redesigns, especially for my main gal Annette. Bangs Ingrid too

Yup I had a thread on that it’d be a shame if they didn’t take advantage of the class system and did clones and it seems I was right

I've heard people theorizing that preferred classes will have their own unique movesets per character but given that we're apparently getting the whole roster of students + extras that seems pretty unlikely to me, unless the moveset changes for preferred classes are pretty small (like, one or two different combos). Though it does seem like we're getting unique animations at least for preferred classes since Felix has his crest of Fraldarius show up in one of his attacks here.

I do wonder how preferred classes will end up working in a Warriors game where stats shouldn't come into play that often. Or maybe it will just end up being a straight power buff if you're using a preferred class

I think this will be more aligned to DW7/8 where the characters have extra moves with their prefered weapon but they can use other ones without issue (as long as it compatible in this case, I think mounted moveset will be unique)

It definitely looks a lot more fun. Teba was apparently broken in AoC but he never felt that fun to play, Revali was pretty fun in his own right imo, but still suffered from some control issues. The Archer class moveset here looks like a blast

Yeah, I've heard they were good but the flight mechanic made them annoying and unwieldy to use. Guess I prefer my archers stay on the ground then in the air.

AoC also featured more physics based stuff, like the trees and such, akin to the main game (even if not as complex and extensive). Three Hopes looks much more static in comparison. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, though.

Liking most of the Three Hopes haircuts but Ingrid looks kinda terrible to me. It's not layered properly and the side bangs are just... yeah.

Waiting patiently for Linhardt.
 
Most of the Blue Lions looking good. Huge downgrades for Dimitri and the red head girl. Hoping some Shadow Dragon characters get added to this.

The order they were going for is clearly best-worst-middle

But they look pretty good, Petra probably looks the best, though Caspar's new do fits him well

Hahaha jokes aside, venthough Blue Lions looks grew on me after some time passed, these ones look great from the start!
Dorothea, Petra and Ferdie look especially great!

Adulthood is realizing Hubert isn’t just a good character, but in fact the best character.

Anybody have a good story only playthrough series of three houses they can recommend? I have a big painting project next week that’s be perfect for it

I'm currently playing Three Houses and on the Black Eagle route. I really like Bernie's did-you-just-drag-me-out-of-my-room-for-this?! look in Three Hopes. Everyone looks so good. Though Edelgard look more 'cute' than regal/intimidating. Not very 'empire'. :censored:

It's probably a stretch but it will be nice if the game taps into your Three Houses save game and let you play through your 'house' with all the other students you recruited. Even as a Black Eagle, I ended up with a really soft spot for ma boy, Raphael.

Lin, Petra and Hubie 🥰 And I'm so glad Billy Kametz got to voice Ferdinand before starting his treatment, he truly made that character.

I hope we do get some staff members playable. Manuela, Seteth and Jeritza please

Same, I hope everyone that was recruitable in base game is playable here... well and also the ones that weren't like Jeralt, Rodrigue, Judith, Nardel, etc.

Loving the new looks for my Eagles. Bernie and Petra being my two favorite new looks. And as mewntioned above I'm glad that Billy Kametz could be in this. I hope he pulls through this okay. He's a great VA and I can't imagine anyone else as Ferdinand or Josuke Higashikata.
