They indeed do! THQ Nordic alone has two more leaked Switch games to be announced this year: Remnant From the Ashes and Biomutant. And then there's that Spongebob game which I'll totally get.
I doubt we'll see Biomutant come back any time soon. Didn't it sell pretty poorly?

Not that bad, sold exactly what expected. It's been leaked a couple of times that it's coming to Switch including a Gamestop listing last year and Amazon listing earlier this year. THQ ports everything they can to Switch, a furry space warrior is exactly what Nintendo fans would want.

Hey all, in case you haven't seen it -

This thread will be automatically updated as games in the eShop are given release dates.

This is a feature I've been wanting to do for a long time, and the past couple months of building out our backend has given me the opportunity to whip this together.

thq likes moar money thats why

I know I'm the only person who cares, but we're overdue for another Genesis/Megadrive NSO update.
We've had it pretty good with the last two months having updates, but with Kirby 64 coming out pretty late this month it doesn't look like we'll see a Genesis update this time. I would love to be wrong though.
Sega has always been my favorite Nintendo rival because they used to be just as crazy if not more so (creatively speaking I mean) during their platform holder days.
I agree, Playstation is such a bland name whenever I stop and think about it.

BRB Making the game DROP TABLE Adventure and crashing the site. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

One thing I appreciate about Switch era Nintendo is how high quality their software output is.

Gone are the days of those handheld spin-offs that exist for the sole reason to exist (eg Mario Party Island Tour/Star Rush).
Gone are the days of constantly publishing new Arzest games.

There was a dark period in the 3DS/Wii U era where they just released a whole pile of steaming turds one after the other. Something has changed in how they green light projects and it’s become a hell of a lot better and I appreciate that.

NOOOOOOOOOO—wait

It wouldn't even make it past Nintendo's database, and it certainly wouldn't make it past my query validation 😎

  1. Fuffelpups: * secretly makes DROP TABLE Adventure *
  2. It crashes Nintendo's database
  3. Nintendo's twitter: * panicking * "oh uh... ESHOP DOWN FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE SUDDENLY KTHXBAI"
  4. Famiboards: "ooooh finally the Silksong shadowdrop!!"

Well I've lost a chunk of the day to illness so I'm doing a bit of morale boosting Metroid before I attempt to go do a little food shopping.

You achievement haters creep me out.

They often make me engage with mechanics I wouldn’t otherwise, and work as some extra motivation to really enjoy all a game has to offer.

The Wonderful 101 on Wii U I adored but I didn’t bother 100%ing it. The PS4 rerelease though I went above and beyond and got the platinum trophy and I really enjoyed my time with it.

I’m up to 95 platinum trophies. Might play the PS4 version of Hollow Knight for #100 tbh. Make that one something special.

If you don’t like them there’s system level options to turn off notifications and it’s like they don’t exist, so actively disliking them is weird.

The only thing I dislike about them is that I feel like they replaced actual in-game rewards and unlockables for doing crazy secret things. Special moves, special costumes, special weapons, etc etc etc, and it's probably a coincidence instead of a cause but it seemed to me like around the time achievements/trophies became a thing, a lot of the game-enhancing rewards for doing a bunch of outrageous stuff went away and were replaced with a message saying you got a trophy. Then all the special extra stuff I felt like was suddenly missing from games began showing back up again as paid DLC. So when I see people (not here, mind you) insisting Nintendo is trash for not including achievements, my brain hears "Nintendo is trash for not including this thing that is partially responsible for replacing something I enjoyed about gaming" and my default reaction is to defend Nintendo in that case. And this is surely only my perspective due to my age and my formative gaming years being the SNES/Genesis era. Tons of things have obviously changed in gaming since then, what is considered normal now is not my normal, and I am admittedly reduced to an old man shouting at clouds.

I honestly think it's rad that they give you genuine goals through which to engage more, though. Sincerely. 👍

Switch having any form of presence in Europe doesnt sit well with some lol.
I went down the rabbit hole looking at his comments throughout the day. This dude is unhinged lol

I personally don’t care for achievements as it’s just a checklist for no reward.

Well, reward I care for, “trophies or points” means nothing to me.

I like the ones Sakurai has. For Kirby Air Ride it’s basically the same only you get some actual cool stuff. I like my checklists to have some kind of usable in-game reward. Hell, I wish we could get cheats or something, I love playing games overpower after beating them regularly, it’s fun to mess around

Also W101R was like, an insane bomba.

Check out how many people on PSNProfiles have the platinum, a whopping 57!

And there’s me at #12 on the list!

It bombed everywhere, Wii U original release probably has outsold all other versions together by quite a bit and that was a huge flop
Steam 294 player peak https://steamdb.info/app/1190400/graphs/
Switch version didn't do any relevant numbers in any chart or didn't chart at all

I don't personally have issues with achievements or trophies. The only thing I would like to see is a system where i can outright turn off achievements, the current system I believe is I still have the achievment/trophy I just don't see it, I would rather have the option where I play a game and I haven't unlocked achievements/trophies and I can't see them, and if later on I decide I do want to unlock them I can just turn them on from the system settings myself.

And it’s a top 10 game of all time and deserves everything. A sequel, a Smash character, a movie, a Netflix series that gets cancelled after 2 seasons.

Platinum trophies are great because of those $0.99 games that get you a platinum in less than a minute. You can have the same stats as somebody who spent thousands of hours of work in like an hour.

Does anyone happen to have a list of when Nintendo’s E3 presentations were announced in previous years? Not the event itself, but the announcement of said event.

I want to know when we should start expecting a June announcement!

That's hilarious. I think the first time I realized achievements were not for me was during the 360 days when people were literally buying these shitty Naruto games just for the quick & EZ achievements.

This is about where I'm at. I don't want to get in the way of people who want achievements. I do hope that if/when Nintendo implements them they let me disable/opt out of them completely i.e. not just turn off the visuals but the unlocking mechanism itself. I don't want to contribute to the awfulness.

I don't hate achievements I just find them useless. When I was a kid I just made my own achievements. Now you have the devs telling you what to do rather than you doing what you want to do with the game. Especially since some are useless like kill 500 mooks or worse you killed insert boss that is required to kill to advance the story. If you enjoy them its fine but I don't need them and find it a weird obsession some people have when they list problems with Nintendo. Nintendo have a lot of problems but I don't see lacking achievements as one of them. Again I am not saying people can't want them but do I consider it up there with bad online, bad access to legacy content, or serious problems revolving around work conditions or worse? Not even close. Besides if 3rd parties wanted to they could and some do include achievements inside the games themselves. Anyways, I don't mean to come off as hostile or anything as I imagine it can come off that way in text form. I also imagine this comes off as old man yelling at clouds but I am a pretty old gamer so it's probably true. Lol

Both of my kids threw up 3 times each on back to back days. Assuming it's a stomach bug. I'm basically a ticking time bomb until it's my turn.

You can just ignore the achievements. It's not like someone is forcing you to do them. Do them if you want, don't if you don't. I dunno, I just don't get the argument against achievements personally.

This reminds me of friends back in high school who used to buy or rent games they hated just to get that easy platinum trophy or points. I was also pulled into a trophy-hunting phase when I got my Vita, but then I realized how pointless it was and how chasing after platinums sometimes made me begin to actively dislike games that I previously enjoyed.

If Nintendo ever incorporates achievements with the Switch or its successor I hope they include an option to opt-out entirely. Not just turn off notifications, but completely skip it altogether and not have it show up in my profile or account.

Achievements imo would be kinda cool if they were just an automatic gaming log. The completionism vibe and score hunting is what ruins it. Would be cool if it was just a "hey I did this thing back then" thing, without showing how many achievements are left and neither giving points for them.
I guess I can just ignore the score XD maybe just by it existing it kinda changes the vibe of the platform though, with people comparing profiles

TBH, the best achievements systems give you badges and raffle tickets like the Kirby one here.

Have Badge Bunny award you badges for completing achievements that you can display on your profile and offer the occasional raffle for game-related prizes if you complete certain achievements and connect your Switch profile to My Nintendo.

I need to buy a new PS3. Have a bunch of backlog games I want to play, and stuff I want to revisit like Metal Gear Rising.

Unfortunately my disk drive is dead though. This is the inevitable fate of every game console, and why backwards compatibility is so important. Old consoles dying doesn’t matter if you can just keep playing the library on a new system every 5-8 years.

Yep. Remember when my son got noro and I literally thought I was gonna die when it started come out both ends at the same time. Didn’t know that much could come out of a person, but now I know why diarrheal illness is the number one childhood infectious disease killer and one of the top for all demographics.

Really? I did not know about the listings. Its a weird game that was kinda halfbaked. Interesting who ports it.

Oh what I would do for an OG PS3 with full BC.
