Discussion Do you agree with Jonathan Blow when he stated on air that "Zelda is fake puzzle".

Look at Zelda Randomizers. The whole point of randomizers is to turn the entire game into a puzzle, but one you gotta piece together through your understanding of the game. Instead of Zelda fans making more games like Master Quest where the puzzles get really obtuse, Zelda fans prefer challenges that give freedom of how to approach solutions rather than just making hardcore one off puzzles. There's a way in how Nintendo's design philosophy even affects what the fans were interested in.

It's no mystery that randomizers became one of those most popular Zelda mods or really popularized randomizing.

If you ask me if so-called game ratings mean anything, I'd say that, at least for now, they are decreasing in significance, and it's by no means a collapse of the so-called game aesthetic, but rather the fact that game ratings are in fact controlled by the major review media, and that they have an absolute say in the matter, and the fact is that the media can't decide whether a game is philosophically good or bad in terms of its design.
Some people simply cannot accept negative reviews of a game, although this is actually unavoidable. The current distorted aesthetic in the gaming industry cannot exist for a long time. In most discussions, this is more of a matter of setting the agenda rather than stemming from people's true feelings.

Having monitored this thread for a while, the premise it's based on – which isn't entirely clear to begin with – didn't lead to discussion going anywhere but in circles. We have decided to lock the thread.
